Impactful partnerships - The JMA Trust

Last year we were really pleased to work with The JMA Trust.

The JMA Trust support lots of vulnerable people and communities across Scotland. For more information, follow this link; www.jmatrust.com

They supported us to provide more clothing packages to families who needed some extra support. The clothing packages included uniform, casual clothing and footwear ensuring young people had enough clothing for school and the weekend to be warm, be part of the school community and be active. We worked with several organisations who are embedded in the community and who could reach families discretely.

We were able to;

- distribute 268 garments to young people aged between 5 - 13

- helping 58 individual young people within families.

- working with The Jeely Piece Club (Castlemilk), The Daisy Chain (Govanhill),

Woman’s Aid and via schools.

Some feedback from The Daisy Chain, “The coats, jackets and warm jumpers etc just flew off the tables. Parents were delighted with the range and quality provided as pre-loved clothing. I gave everyone a flyer away with them and explained that I can make personal referrals on their behalf, should anyone need something specific that we didn’t have on the day. I want to take the opportunity to thank you all at ApparelXchange for the amazing opportunity that you were able to provide for our families in Govanhill and of course, the continued facility to refer for specific family needs too.”

As you know the impact of clothing on the environment is massive, so combining social impacts with reducing our impact on our planet is even better.

We are pleased to say, we are able to continue this work with further support from The Trust and are expanding our collaboration with The Maryhill Integration Network.

If you would like to work with us further, please get in touch. In the meantime, please watch this short video.
